WATERVILLE, Maine — A local woman was arrested Tuesday morning after being accused of assaulting her boyfriend, police said.

Samantha Perry, 20, assaulted the man at his Waterville residence on Monday night, according to Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey.

The man came to the police station to report the incident at 9 a.m. Tuesday and he had scratches from the assault on his upper body, Rumsey said.

Police subsequently met with Perry and placed her under arrest, the deputy chief said. She was brought to Kennebec County Jail and later released on bail.

Perry’s first court appearance is May 21.
