Bowdoin man, injured in crash, found by canine

BOWDOIN — A Bowdoin man who was injured when he crashed his car Saturday night left the scene of the accident, was later found by a Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office deputy and his canine.

Kevin King, 31, walked away from his 2005 Buick after suffering a head injury when he crashed his the car on West Road just after 9:30 p.m., Sagadahoc County Chief Deputy Brett Strout said Monday.

Deputy Ian Alexander and his canine, Brix, followed King’s trail and found him about a mile south of the crash scene, Strout said.

He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center, according to Bowdoin Fire Chief Tom Garrepy. A call to the hospital to check on King’s condition wasn’t immediately returned.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Strout said.
