The 33-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted near the laundromat on Main Street, according to Lt. Carl Gottardi of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
Gottardi said the incident involved altercations between several individuals, with the woman the only person stabbed.
She suffered a puncture wound to the front of her shoulder near her neck, Gottardi said. She was transported to Redington-Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan before being airlifted to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment of injuries not considered life threatening.
The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for review, Gottardi said. No charges have been filed and police don’t have a description of any suspect or suspects.
Gottardi said the woman remains at the Bangor hospital, but no other information on her condition was provided.
