ORRINGTON – Malcolm G. Leonard Sr., 78, died May 4, 2013, at his home after a long illness. He was born Dec. 15, 1934, in Hampden, son of Roscoe and Madeline (Cole) Leonard.
Malcolm grew up in Hampden and worked for Bancroft-Martin steel fabrication for many years. He was a longtime resident of Orrington and was a member of East Orrington Congregational Church. Some of his enjoyments included socializing with other retirees at McDonald’s, gardening, going to camp on Graham Lake and participation in church dart ball.
Surviving is his four children, Pat Lewis of Bangor, Linda Williams and husband, Wesley, of Hampden, Karen Rancourt of Bristol, Conn., and Malcom G. Leonard Jr. and wife, Claire Mack, of Orrington; 13 grandchildren, Eric, Tracey, Richard, Lynnar, Kimi, Robbie, Cooper, Carla, Heather, Felicia, Glenn, Adam and Sarah; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette Witham of Hampden and Rosa Narosky of Searsport; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lila; two daughters, Robin Watson and Valerie Kondor; and two brothers, Raymond and Elwell Leonard.
Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A service honoring Malcolm’s life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at East Orrington Congregational Church, Orrington, with Pastor David Lester presiding.
