Coach Steve Trimper’s keys to the series: “We need to have quality at-bats and get back to driving baseballs by attacking hittable pitches, not getting ourselves out.”

Game notes: UMaine must win at least one game this weekend to hold onto first place. More importantly, the Black Bears hope to add more consistent offense to their continued stingy pitching and excellent defense. The Great Danes have won five of their last six and seven of nine after outscoring UMBC 16-1 in a three-game sweep last weekend. Albany is batting .291 and averaging 6.1 runs per game, tops in AE play. UMaine counters with a league-low 2.60 ERA.
