OLD TOWN – Albert J. Martin, 87, died May 2, 2013, at a Bangor hospital following a brief illness. He was born Nov. 2, 1925, in Old Town, son of L. Forest and Leona Mary (Landry) Martin.
He was employed at Old Town Shoe and at Old Town Fuel for many years. He enjoyed family time and was the family fix it man. He enjoyed puttering around the house. He was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Old Town; three sons, Thomas Martin of Bradley, John Martin and wife, Susan, of Islip, N.Y., and James Martin of Glenburn; two daughters Brenda Hanson and husband, Mark, of Woolwich and Barbara Trussell and husband, Michael, of Old Town; six grandchildren, Michelle Lozier, Robert Martin and wife, Danielle, Juliann Martin, Marsha Libby, Danny Shaw and Zoie Trussell; five great-grandchildren, Kayla and Kody Walker, Ethan Lozier and Tyler and Kaitlyn Libby; great-grandson, Zachary, due in two weeks; sister, Dorothy Martin of Old Town; sister-in-law, Shirley Martin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Leo F. Martin Jr., Robert Martin and Reginald Martin; sister, Odina Robichaud; and grandson, Brandon Shaw.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, at Parish of the Resurrection Holy Family Church, Old Town. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. Immediately after services at the cemetery, all are invited to return to Holy Family Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
