The students were chosen by their schools on the basis of service, leadership, dependability, and patriotism. Sonia Mallar, DAR Good Citizen chairwoman, presented each student with a pin, a certificate, and a check from the chapter. The students included (from left) Joshua Orcutt, Nokomis Regional High School; Sian Douglas, John Bapst Memorial High School; Gabrielle Melcher, Bangor Christian Schools; Mackenzi McHugh, Central High School; Leah Jones, Bangor High School; and Ashley Langille, Hermon High School.
