BREWER, Maine — Brewer police charged two teenaged boys with criminal mischief — and are seeking a third juvenile suspect — in connection with a graffiti incident Thursday afternoon off Abbott Street.
The incident that led to the charges occurred about 3 p.m., when Brewer police were asked to look into suspicious activity in the area, Brewer police Sgt. Nelson Feero said early Thursday evening.
“It was reported that three people had gotten out of a car and were walking down the railroad tracks,” Feero said. When Deputy Police Chief Jason Moffitt went to the area, he found freshly painted graffiti on a train trestle, he said.
The suspects — whose names were withheld because of their ages — scattered and fled into the woods.
Police caught two of the suspects shortly afterward, contacted their parents and then charged them with criminal mischief, Feero said. They are still looking for the third, Feero said.
