SMYRNA, Maine — Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident on Route 2 in Aroostook County, according to police.
Grady Anderson, 36, of Houlton was driving east in his 2001 Buick when he lost control, according to Sgt. Brian Harris of the Maine State Police.
Upon losing control, Anderson’s vehicle skidded off the road, into a ditch, vaulted into the air and rolled over, the sergeant said. Anderson was ejected from the vehicle.
Anderson’s passenger, 28-year-old Tyler McCluskey, whose hometown was not available, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital for treatment.
Anderson, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered a possible head injury and a leg injury and was also transported to Houlton Regional Hospital before being transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Harris said.
A spokeswoman at Houlton Regional Hospital said McCluskey has been discharged.
Anderson’s Buick was demolished in the crash, which remains under investigation.
