Coach Steve Trimper’s keys to the game: “We need to get our offense going. We have to get back to manufacturing runs the way we are capable of, with speed, the hit-and-run, etc.”

Game notes: The Division I Black Bears won’t take the Division III Owls for granted, especially after UMaine’s recent scare against Colby. UMaine has lost two in a row while struggling to score runs. UMPI, which competes as an independent, had won five straight before Sunday’s doubleheader loss to Newbury. Coach Leo Saucier’s Owls have 13 in-state players on their roster.
