SACO, Maine — A local man accused of driving drunk is also facing a drug charge, according to police.
Joel Hanmer, 34, was caught speeding on Buxton Road just after 4 p.m. on April 24, Saco Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland said Monday.
Upon questioning Hanmer, who told police he was coming from his parents’ house, officers noticed that he had glassy eyes, Holland said.
Hanmer was taken into custody and brought to the Saco police station for a breathalyzer, the deputy chief said.
A white prescription pill that was supposed to be in a container was found in Hanmer’s pocket, so he was charged with unlawful possession of a scheduled drug in addition to OUI, Holland said.
Hanmer was released on bail from the police station.
