ROCHESTER, N.H. — Several children were injured, one seriously, in a multi-vehicle crash Saturday evening that closed Route 125.
On Saturday at 5:03 p.m., Rochester police and fire departments and Frisbie EMS responded to Route 125 and the southbound off-ramp of Exit 12 of the Spaulding Turnpike for a reported vehicle accident.
A police press release said a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2001 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck driven by Edward Crowley, 68, of Gonic, was traveling southbound on the Spaulding and took Exit 12. At the bottom of the ramp Crowley proceeded into the intersection of Route 125, striking a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer.
After that impact, Crowley struck a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, police said.
Both the Blazer and Cobalt were traveling northbound on Route 125.
The Blazer was driven by Joan Chesser, 27, of Gonic. Chesser had four juveniles with her. One boy, age 8, in the rear seat, had to be extricated by the fire department. The boy was med-flighted to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.
