FORT KENT – Mabel Guimond, 105, died peacefully April 26, 2013, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born May 24, 1907, in Wallagrass, the daughter of Edward and Victoria (Berube) Belanger.
Mabel loved doing word finds and enjoyed winning at bingo and praying which she did often.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Daigle of Fort Kent; two sons, Herman Guimond and Albert Guimond Jr. and wife, Pauline, all of Fort Kent; 24 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Guimond Sr.; two daughters and their husbands, Florence and Bertrand Marin and Mildred and Gerard Lausier; son-in-law, Harold Daigle; daughter-in-law, Noella Guimond; four sisters, Mamie Michaud, Nellie Amnot, Yvonne Michaud and Claudia Belanger; four brothers, Oram, Phillip, Yvon and Pete Belanger; and two grandsons, Scott Guimond and John Lausier.
Friends may call 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, April 30, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.
