AUGUSTA, Maine — A missing Maryland man who authorities believed might be headed for Maine was found dead Sunday, according to police.

The body of Timothy John Fowler, 69, was discovered in the community of Bladensburg, Md., by police, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Thursday.

Fowler, who had Alzheimer’s disease, died of natural causes, McCausland said.

Fowler grew up in Portland and has three adult children living in Raymond and Harrison. He was believed to be headed to Maine after he was reported missing from an adult day care center in Largo, Md., on April 8, McCausland said. Largo is located about 12 miles from Bladensburg.
