BANGOR — Rosscare’s LiveSAFE program has funding available to assist seniors and disabled community members who may be in need of a help button, but are unable to afford the lifesaving service.

LiveSAFE is a personal emergency response service that provides help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, allowing people to live independently in their own homes, where they are most comfortable. With a simple push of a button, calls are answered by a central call center in Maine. If the call center operator determines emergency assistance is needed, an immediate call is made to local dispatch, fire, police or ambulance.

Currently, the monthly service for LiveSAFE is $32 per month. Sponsorship funding provides $10 per month, reducing the subscriber fee to $22 per month. Potential subscribers with a family size of one with an annual income at or below $17,235 are eligible.

Community members interested in applying for LiveSAFE sponsorship funding may call Rosscare LiveSAFE at 973-7094 to receive the guidelines and application, or rosscare.org. Rosscare will accept application until funds no longer are available.

Funding for the Rosscare LiveSAFE Fund is made possible by donations from local community members.
