ROCKLAND, Maine — A 56-year-old Thomaston man remains at Knox County Jail Tuesday after being accused of a felony domestic violence assault.

Steven A. Woodbury was arrested Friday and charged with the offense at a Thomaston residence. The charge is classified as a felony because he had two assault convictions in 2011.

According to a police affidavit filed in Rockland District Court, Woodbury was sitting outside the house when officers responded to the domestic disturbance call. The woman told police that Woodbury had pushed her and that she fell backward and hit her head.

Officers noticed an injury to the back of the woman’s head.

Woodbury was arrested and taken to the jail.

He made his initial court appearance Monday afternoon in Rockland District Court. Judge Susan Sparaco set bail at $1,000 cash.
