HAMPDEN – Richard A. Wing, 82, died April 21, 2013, in Bangor. He was born April 14, 1931, in Hampden, the son of Earl and Lillian (Ridley) Wing.
Richard was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and was the owner and operator of Wing’s Automotive, Hampden, for many years. Richard loved his feline companion, Sally.
Surviving is his wife, Shirley M. (Stevens) Wing of Hampden; two children, Troy Wing and wife, Jennifer, of Ellsworth and Teresa Shaw and husband, Charles, of Monmouth; three grandchildren, Terry Lynn Bechard and Chipper Shaw both of Monmouth and Kristen Wing of Franklin; four great-grandchildren, Caylynn and Karlee Kroll, Reese Shaw and Evan Bechard; three brothers, Sonny, Ronald and James Wing; sister, Faustina Heath; and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Richard’s home, 642 Western Ave., Hampden. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Maine Veterans Home, Activities Fund, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401.
