Bangor woman accused of domestic violence assault after argument with girlfriend

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A local woman faces a domestic violence assault charge after an altercation with her female partner late Thursday, according to police.

Rachel King, 36, and her girlfriend apparently got into a heated argument over one of the two women consuming alcohol at a Prentiss Street residence, according to Bangor police Lt. Steve Hunt.

The argument escalated into a physical dispute, according to Hunt, and it left one of the women with redness and bruising. She did not require medical attention.

Police determined that King was the primary aggressor and took her into custody, Hunt said. She was brought to Penobscot County Jail, where she remained Friday morning.
