PORTLAND, Maine — A Winslow man was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court to nine years in federal prison on a child pornography charge, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Jerry Blair III, 60, also was sentenced to 10 years of supervised release and ordered to pay $5,250 in restitution to fund counseling for one of the victims. She was depicted in the images found on Blair’s computer.
Photos and videos depicting the girl are considered to be among the most widely circulated in the world. Images of the girl had been identified by the the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in about 8,000 cases nationwide, according to a previously published report.
Blair was arrested in September and pleaded guilty in November to possession of child pornography. He has been free on $5,000 unsecured bail since his arrest.
He began serving his sentence immediately after being sentenced, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Blair came to the attention of federal investigators last May when they found evidence that he was sharing child pornography over the Internet while living in Camden, according to a press release issued Wednesday. Agents seized Blair’s computer in July and found images and videos depicting child pornogaphy.
Blair faced up to 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
