WATERVILLE, Maine — A teenage boy is facing a terrorizing charge after threatening other youngsters with a toy gun at a skate park over the weekend, police said.
The 15-year-old, whose name police are withholding because he is a juvenile, was arrested and charged on Saturday, Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said Tuesday.
Police had been dispatched to the Green Street skate park when it was reported a teen had been threatening other teenagers with a gun, Rumsey said.
When officers arrived, the young suspect had disappeared into a nearby wooded area, but he returned while police were on scene.
The teen was quickly placed under arrest, and while searching the woods, police discovered the gun that the boy had been waving was an air pistol that shoots BBs, Rumsey explained.
The boy was released to the custody of his parents.
