MACHIASPORT – Wade Berry, 42, a lifetime resident of Washington County, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, in Machias. Wade was born June 26, 1970, in Machiasport.
He grew up in Machiasport and was a graduate of Fort O’Brien School and Washington Academy. After matriculation, Wade attended vocational school for a time where he trained to later work as a mechanic. He also made a successful career as a clam digger and a scallop fisherman. For a time Wade was the owner and operator of his own vessel. In his free time, Wade collected firearms, designed and installed custom audio/visual systems and sport fished for bass and trout. He also looked forward to the thrill and freedom of racing street motorcycles. Wade’s family will especially miss watching him as a caring father to his daughter, Elesia.
Wade is survived by his daughter, Elesia L. Berry of Machiasport; mother, Marjorie Berry of Machiasport; brother, Gregory R. Berry and wife, Debbie, of Machiasport; sisters, Kim Comeau, and husband, Joe, of Robbinson, Janet Green, and husband, Dave, of Machiasport, Susan Berry of Old Town, Dalla Pennell, and husband, Keith, of Machias and Marla Beam of East Machias; Wade also leaves behind his fiancé, Peggy Richardson, of Machias. He was predeceased by brother, Joseph Adion Berry.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Trafton Cemetery, Machiasport, with Pastor Bill Holmes officiating. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes, Machias.
