PALMYRA – Ruth M. Condon, 84, passed away peacefully April 13, 2013, with her family by her side, at Hope House Hospice, Fort Myers, Fla. She was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Dexter, a daughter of Theodore and Dorothy (Stackpole) McAllister.
She was educated in Palmyra and Newport schools, graduating from Newport High School, class of 1946. She went to work for New England Telephone Company while still in high school, retiring in 1978. She had spent winters in Florida for the past 20 years.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Harold W. Condon; three children, Bill and wife, Fawn Condon, of Corinna, Carol and husband, Larry Poulin, of Oakland and Evie and husband, Dan Bowman, of Newport; brother, Dale and wife, Hattie McAllister, of Grosse Island, Mich.; six grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Carleton McAllister.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18. Burial will be at Palmyra Village Cemetery.
