ROCKLAND – Beverly Pendleton died peacefully at Knox Center For Long Term Care, Rockland, Sunday morning, March 31, 2013. She was born April 19, 1929, the third child of Howard and Annie Gardner of Middleboro, Mass.
She graduated high school from Brookside Academy, Taunton, Mass., in 1947, and four years later, married classmate Gerald C. “Jerry” Pendleton. They moved to Maine with their two sons, Mark and Jay, in 1963, following Jerry’s graduation from California’s Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and settled in Glen Cove. For 33 years thereafter, Beverly was the indispensable receptionist and assistant and general right-hand person in Jerry’s dental office, from which they retired fully in 1996. A life-long member of Seventh-day Adventist Church, she was active for many years in the local congregation.
Survivors include her two sons, Mark of Las Cruces, N.M., wife, Debra, and their children, Christopher and Heather, Jay of Camden and daughter, Angelica of Gorham; two brothers, Richard Gardner and wife, Jeanne, of Georgia and Florida and Bob Gardner of Middleboro, Mass.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A remembrance service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Knox Center, Rockland.
