Marcella Jeanne (Legere) Harris

BANGOR – Marcella “Marcie” J. Harris, 76, passed away peacefully April 13, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 26, 1936, in Bangor, the daughter of Ernest H. and Anne Marie (Ayotte) Legere.
Marcie was a graduate of Bangor High School in the class of 1954. She received the junior exhibition award for her oratory skills. Marcie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed the simple beauty of life; an evening swim, a bird’s song, her flower gardens, her kitty kids and her friends and family. Marcie was a devoted care giver to many, working early on in life as a licensed practical nurse, then later as a certified nurse’s aide. Whether she was working in a hospital, nursing home or in-home care, Marcie strived to make personal connections with each patient she served, always willing to offer a kind word or a gentle smile. She took pride in all that she did.
Surviving are five children, Robbie Sue Connor of East Orland, Deirdre Ann and husband, Lt. Col. Fujio McPherson, retired, of Lacey, Wash., Stephanie Marie Connor and partner, Rhonda Sue Barnett, of Sherman, Texas, Gordon Brent Connor and wife, Lisa F. Kelley-Connor, of Bethesda, Md., and Rhonda Lee Connor and wife, Barbara Haskell, of Blue Hill; grandchildren, Justin Avery Connor and wife, Claudia Montoya, Chelsea Amber and Tyler Blue McPherson, Timothy Daniel Barnett, Aidyn Kelley and Liam Kelley Connor and soon to be, Nicholas Connor Haskell; great-grandchildren, Justin Alexander Connor and Tori Kay Barnett; sister, Lorraine M.
