Coach Steve Trimper’s keys to the series: “We need to build off an outstanding week of practice. On a dirt field, we have to try to play as errorless as we can. Offensively, we have to keep winning innings, try to keep the pressure on them, keep piling [the runs] on.”

Game notes: The Black Bears look to extend their lead in the standings against a UMBC team that ranks last with a .214 batting average (3.1 runs per game) and has a 5.31 team ERA in league play. UMaine, which is tops in BA (.283) and ERA (2.93), swept here last season, scoring 76 runs on 76 hits.
