SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Dorrie Ann Lyle, 47, died peacefully March 29, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. Dorrie was born in Fort Bragg, N.C., and moved to Southwest Harbor with her parents and two brothers.
Dorrie was a graduate of Mount Desert Island High School and was given an award in culinary arts through Job Corps in Bangor. She then worked at Testa’s Restaurant in Bar Harbor and Florida. Dorrie always went above and beyond to help anyone in need. She was employed at various nursing homes and did private duty work for the eldery as a certified nurse’s aid. Dorrie’s passions in life were animals and flowers. She enjoyed both and could always be found in the gardens.
Dorrie was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Lyle; mother, Clora Lyle; and father, Charles Lyle. She is survived by her brother, Sylvester Lyle of Bass Harbor; and her significant other of 18 years, Danny Jacobs of Southwest Harbor. Dorrie will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
A service celebrating her life will be announced at a later date.
