BOOTHBAY, Maine — A 57-year-old Boothbay man was arrested Thursday in Boothbay and charged with robbery in connection with a March 17 home invasion in the Barters Island area of Boothbay.

Michael Brewer was arrested without incident at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday at the Matthews Road home where he was staying, according to Lt. Michael Murphy of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, where he is being held on $30,000 cash bail.

Police continue to seek two other perpetrators who participated in the March 17 robbery of a Barters Island home. One homeowner received minor injuries during the incident, Murphy said. All three robbers were wearing masks when they broke in and took cash and jewelry.

Police have not recovered the cash or jewelry that were taken during the robbery, Murphy said. Citing an ongoing investigation, he declined to place a value on the jewelry.

According to the sheriff’s office, Brewer’s arrest came after multiple interviews and the examination of DNA evidence during a several-week period. The investigation continues, and more charges may result.

Murphy encouraged anyone with information about the crime or others like it to contact Detective Ron Rollins or Detective Terry Michaud at 882-7332.
