Robert C. Jordan

ELLSWORTH – Robert C. Jordan, 82, died peacefully at his home, Friday, March 29, 2013, surrounded by his children.
Robert attended Ellsworth schools. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. While then serving in the Army Reserves, he returned and settled on Bayside Road in Ellsworth. Robert was a caretaker for 30 years. He was also an avid farmer, gardener, carpenter and woodsman who enjoyed the outdoors. Robert enjoyed his many hunting dogs over the years and had a special fondness for his “granddogs,” Lexi and Bella.
In addition to his parents; he was predeceased by his siblings, Linwood, Eunice, Edgar and Carroll. He is survived by his children, son, Neil and wife, Janet; daughter, Christine; and son, Edward and his significant other, Ginny Derise, all of Ellsworth; four grandchildren, Roman and Meagan Jordan of Franklin and Brian and Kassidy Jordan of Ellsworth; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and very good friend, Keith Swett of Ellsworth.
A graveside service will be held at a future date at Jordan Cemetery, Bayside Road. Those who wish to remember Robert may send a gift to SPCA of Hancock County, 141 Bar Harbor Road, Trenton, ME 04605.
