HUDSON, Maine — The results of last month’s Board of Selectmen election were affirmed after a recount conducted Tuesday evening at the town office.
The recount was requested by incumbent Michael Kelley, who placed third in a tight, three-way race for two selectman positions.
Donald Grant was the top vote getter, with 81 ballots cast for him, according to Town Clerk Bonnie Chase. The other available position went to Deanna Thurston, who had 64 votes compared to Kelley’s 61 votes.
Thurston had 65 votes in the original tally conducted after the March 22 vote.
In other election results, Norman Veazie, who was unopposed, won a one-year selectman seat.
Regional School Unit 64 board member Tyler Grant was re-elected to another three-year term and Kristen Dorey, who completed former member Rick Gilman’s unexpired term, won a two-year position.
