Bangor woman hurt when her pickup truck runs over her leg

By Dawn Gagnon, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor woman was injured Wednesday morning when her pickup truck ran over her leg while she was trying to park it.

The accident happened about 9:40 a.m. on Central Street, when Kathleen Rae Lawson, 49, noticed that the green Dodge pickup truck she had just parked near Bagel Central was still in drive, said Bangor police Lt. Steve Hunt.

When she opened the door and grabbed the steering wheel, the jerking motion that resulted caused her to fall to the ground, after which the truck ran over her leg. The truck then rolled across Central Street and struck another pickup, Hunt said.

Lawson was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, where she was treated and then released.
