BANGOR, Maine — Four Bangor police officers went to Cedar Street early Tuesday for a report of a man destroying a woman’s apartment, said Bangor police Officer Jason McAmbley, a community relations officer.
Christopher D. Lowe, 20, of Bangor got upset with a 20-year-old woman about 3:40 a.m. and “knocked over the TV and threatened to tear apart the whole place,” McAmbley said.
Some of the damage was cleaned up by the time officers arrived, but they learned “he knocked her down at one point,” McAmbley said.
Lowe, who has a lengthy criminal history, the officer said, was arrested on a domestic violence assault charge and taken to Penobscot County Jail.
Lowe was convicted last year of assault and two counts of violating condition of release. In August 2012 he was ordered to spend 75 days behind bars and pay a $300 fine for the assault, and 30 days in jail for each bail violation, according to prior court listings printed in the Bangor Daily News.
