Maine coach Steve Trimper’s keys to the series: “We need to keep Gaige off base, limit errors and be extremely aggressive on the bases. We also have to get to their bullpen, because their starters are pitching well.”

Game notes: The Bears debut at Mahaney after 26 straight games on the road. The Great Danes have not played at home this season. This series was moved to Orono because of poor field conditions in Albany. The May 4-5 series will now be played in New York. UMaine’s 4.23 team ERA leads the league, but Albany has several veterans in the lineup. Welsh’s .455 average is tops in league play.
