Bangor woman charged with OUI after late-night traffic stop

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A 26-year-old Bangor woman spent the night in jail after she was found intoxicated during a traffic stop late Thursday, police said.

Officers pulled over Jessica Taggert for an unknown traffic violation on Broadway shortly before midnight, according to Bangor police Lt. Steve Hunt.

Taggert was administered several field sobriety tests, which she failed, and was brought to the Bangor police station for a breathalyzer test, Hunt explained.

Her blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit of 0.08, so she was placed under arrest and charged with operating under the influence, the lieutenant said.

Taggert remained at the Penobscot County Jail on Friday morning, Hunt said.
