NORTH HAVEN, Maine — A 20-year-old North Haven man died Tuesday night in a single-vehicle crash.
Evan Hopkins, 20, of North Haven was traveling north on South Shore Road shortly after 10 p.m. when he lost control of his 1998 Chevrolet truck, according to a news release from Knox County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tim Carroll.
The truck went off the road, struck multiple fence posts and rolled over at least once before coming to rest back on its wheels, the chief deputy reported.
Emergency medical personnel from North Haven Ambulance went to the scene.
Hopkins was pronounced dead at the scene, the chief deputy stated.
The crash is being investigated by Deputies Larry Hesseltine and Nathaniel Jack. It is believed that speed and alcohol were contributing factors.
