By Andrew Neff, BDN Staff

PORTLAND, Maine — A Biddeford man was sentenced to six years in prison and five years of supervised release for possession of child pornography at U.S. District Court on Tuesday afternoon.

U.S. District Judge Nancy Torresen also ordered Paul Roussele, 46, who pleaded guilty to the charge on Oct. 23, 2012, to pay $5,250 in restitution to the victim of his offense.

Police obtained a warrant and searched Roussele’s home in May, seizing a computer and hard drive from the defendant which contained hundreds of videos showing children engaged in sexual acts.

Roussele was apprehended in the Philippines on June 5 and returned to the U.S. to face the charges.

The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
