WATERVILLE, Maine — A patron at a Cumberland Farms on College Avenue is $2.3 million richer after winning the Tri-State Megabucks jackpot over the weekend.

The Maine State Lottery announced on Monday that one winning ticket worth an estimated $2.3 million was sold at the Cumberland Farms in Waterville for Saturday’s drawing.

Timothy Poulin, deputy director of the Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations, said in an email that no winner has yet come forward to claim the prize. He said a formal statement from the Maine State Lottery will be made later today.

“We are still awaiting the final jackpot amount for the annuity payment or cash (if the annuity payment is not taken by the winner) from the Tri-State financial office in Vermont,” said Poulin.

The manager at the Cumberland Farms on College Avenue referred questions to the corporate office, where a message was not immediately returned.

The winning numbers for Saturday’s jackpot were 2-3-5-16-38 with a Megabucks number of 6.

Poulin said the store where the winning ticket was sold will get 1 percent of the final jackpot amount.
