ASHLAND – Thelma T. Carney, 87, died March 23, 2013, at a Caribou nursing home. She was born Nov. 24, 1925, in Ashland, the daughter of James and Lena (Baker) Clark.
She had worked at Taterstate Foods, Washburn, for many years.
She is survived by four sons, Velmond “Norman” Carney and his wife, Robin, Vincent Carney and wife, Sue, Ronnie Carney and wife, Norma, and Vaughn Carney and wife, Linda, all of Ashland; three daughters, Sharon Boulier and husband, Dale, of Vine Grove, Ky., Mary Faulkner and husband, Errol, of Fort Fairfield and Cheryl Tilley and husband, Irvin, of Vernon, Conn.; one brother, Wayne Clark of Ashland; four sisters, Velma Holmes of Washburn, Hilda Spooner of Ashland, Eunice Tarbox of Presque Isle and Helen Koziol of Massachusetts; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Perley Carney, in 1992; one son, Lawrence Carney, in 1963; two brothers, Larry and Nathan Carney; and three sisters, Linda Beaulieu, Tina Avery and Lou Ann Baker.
Relatives and friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashland, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery later this spring.
