Dorothy Fifield Nichols

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Dorothy Fifield Nichols died March 12, 2013. She was born Feb. 8, 1908, in Ashland, N.H. and attended schools in the area.

After graduating from Lesley School, Cambridge, Mass., she taught school in Arlington, Mass., for several years. She was the widow of the late Howard C. Nichols, who owned and operated Nichols Drug Store, Orono, for 40 years. During that time she was a member of Bangor Art Society, the historical society, Penobscot Valley Country Club and she also served as a volunteer for many years at Orono Thrift Shop. In 1984 she moved to First Community Village, Columbus, Ohio.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by a daughter, Ann Auger of Naples, Fla.; a son, Robert C. Nichols of Mashpee, Mass.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. Friends who wish may contribute to Orono Public Library. Arrangements by Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, Columbus, Ohio.
