LEE – Chelsey Jane Worster passed away peacefully March 21, 2013, at home, surrounded by her family and her very special nurse, Shannon “Nin” Shorey. She was born Aug. 6, 1995, to Paula (Daye) Worster and Jay Worster of Lee.
Chelsey was diagnosed with Batten Disease in July 2005. She met every challenge with great courage, strength and an incredible sense of humor. Chelsey attended Lee Academy until December 2012, with her faithful education technician, Amy Renaud. She was always up for new experiences, such as blind skiing, bowling, horseback riding and loved to swim.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Donna and Ernie Daye; paternal great-grandfather, Phillip Dill; and paternal grandparents, Berle and Edna Worster. Chelsey is survived by her parents, Paula and Jay; sister, Cassy and her significant other, Travis Bryant, and his son, Silas; paternal grandparents, Saralee and Berle Worster; great-grandmother, Geraldine Dill; aunt, Jane Daye; aunt, “Annie” Ann and uncle, Brett Hold; aunt, Rachel and uncle, Mike Hunter; aunt, Nicole and uncle, Joe Lee; aunt, Holly and uncle, Travis Worster; several cousins and special friends; her godparents, Pam and Ron Rand; and a special feline companion, Kita. The family thanks the amazing pediatric intensive care unit team of doctors and nurses at Eastern Maine Medical Center for their care and compassion.
A celebration of her life will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lincoln. There will be a reception after the service in the church hall downstairs.
