State police say a Thorndike woman remains in critical condition after her SUV collided with a tractor trailer on the Unity Road in Benton Tuesday afternoon during yesterday's storm. Both vehicles came to rest off the road following the collision. The two drivers were alone when the crash took place about 12:30 p.m.

PORTLAND, Maine — A Thorndike woman remained at Maine Medical Center Thursday two days after her sport utility vehicle was broadsided by a tractor-trailer in Benton.

Jeannine Ann, 65, was listed in critical condition at the Portland hospital, a nursing supervisor at the facility said Thursday.

Ann was injured when her SUV was struck Tuesday by a Clisham Construction rig driven by Michael Hogan, 31, of Bangor, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Ann had lost control of her vehicle on the slushy Unity Road before being struck by the truck, according to McCausland.
