KENNEBUNK, Maine — The Maine State Lottery announced Tuesday that Peter King of Kennebunk, Maine, is the latest winner of $1 million.

King won playing the Maine Millionaire II game. He purchased the winning ticket from the Cumberland Farms in Kennebunk. There are still two top prizes of $1 million remaining to be won in the game.

Tim Poulin, deputy director of the Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations, said King purchased the ticket on Monday, but because of the snowstorm, waited until today to claim it.

“It’s great,” Poulin said. “We love giving away money.”

Poulin said King will walk away with $700,000, after 25 percent is taken out for federal tax and 5 percent for state tax.

“It’s a nice investment for a $20 ticket,” Poulin said.

Attempts to reach King have not been successful.
