ELLSWORTH, Maine — Two men from Mount Desert Island are facing drug charges after they were witnessed participating in a drug transaction, police reported.

Derek Benson, 20, and Bradford O’Coin, 24, both of Southwest Harbor were involved in a March 8 incident in a convenience store parking lot on High Street, according to Corey Bagley, supervisory special agent with Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. Benson is accused of selling a small amount of oxycodone pills to a third man and was charged with unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, Bagley said.
