LISBON, Maine — With excavators and front-end loaders, Lisbon-based Longchamps and Sons is carefully tearing down the longtime fixture along Route 196 that was Graziano’s, ending an era that many Lisbon residents stopped to watch end.

After the demolition, the corner of Lisbon Street and Village Street will be rebuilt and become home to a new Luiggi’s Pizzeria restaurant. Luiggi’s, located on Sabattus Street in Lewiston, has been in business since 1953.

Graziano’s Casa Mia Restaurant announced a year ago it was closing its doors after 43 years in business.
