THOMASTON, Maine — Engineering consultants have filed an application with the town planning board to build a tractor supply store in town.
Gorrill-Palmer Consulting Engineers Inc. of Cumberland will be at the Tuesday, March 19, planning board meeting on behalf of Tractor Supply Co.
Tractor Supply wants to construct a nearly 20,000-square-foot building on the south side of the access road that will be built to the Wal-Mart Supercenter off Route 1, which is under construction, near the Rockland line.
Assessors Agent David Martucci said the company wants to begin construction upon approval and to have the store ready to open at about the same time or a little after Wal-Mart opens. Wal-Mart plans to open by early fall.
The planning board meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the town office.
