BANGOR – Robert Joseph Trundy, 79, died suddenly March 11, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 1, 1934, in Bangor, son of Robert L. and Laura (Beatty) Trundy.
Bob was a hard worker and started working as a truck driver, was a member of Teamsters Local, as well as being a dairy farmer. He was involved with the Masons and Anah Shriners, as well as the Eagles and several other organizations. Bob enjoyed traveling and there are many fond memories of trips to Florida. He was very sentimental and cherished antique furniture that was passed down through the family that he collected and cared for. When he was younger he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid reader throughout his life.
He is survived by his two sons, Lance Trundy and daughter-in-law, Kathy, of Brewer, and Michael Trundy and wife, Wendye, of Brunswick, Ohio; dear best friend, Darlene Nelson of Oakfield; sister, Irene Giampaolo of Haverhill, Mass.; four grandchildren, Kyla, Lucas, Renae and Spencer; and three great-grandchildren, Kayden, Maxwell and Dylan.
Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Interment will be in the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
