Chief Master Sgt. Clarence E. ‘Chuck’ Watson, retired

TUSCOLA, Texas – Chief Master Sgt. Clarence E. “Chuck” Watson, retired, died Feb. 16, 2013, in Clovis, N.M. He was born May 10, 1947, in Hartland, as one of a set of triplets to Hugh and Hazel (Lawrence) Watson.

Chuck attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Piscataquis Community High School, Guilford, June 5, 1965. He and his brother, Chet, enlisted in the Air Force soon after graduating. He married Rachel Beights of Lorraine, Texas, Oct. 13, 1967. Chuck went on to achieve the highest enlisted rank in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 30 years of service. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1999 and a master’s degree in 2001 in aerospace engineering from Embry-Riddle University, Daytona, Fla. He was most recently employed as a GS-12 employee for the Air Force at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel of Tuscola, Texas; sons, David of Hamlin, W.Va., and Jay of Tuscola, Texas; and daughter, Donna and Keven Dunkle of Rocklin, Calif. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Hazel and Norris Chadbourne of Cambridge; his brothers, Chester Watson of Cambridge and Clinton and Pamela Watson of Westfield; grandchildren, Garrett of Hamlin, W.Va., and Collin and Alea of Rocklin, Calif.; and two nephews, Marcus and Stephanie Watson, and children, Tristan, and Victoria of Denton, Texas, and Christopher and Ana Watson, and children, Jason, Emily, Brenna and Jacob, of Stephenville, Texas. He was predeceased by his father, Hugh; and by a nephew, Derek Watson.

A private family funeral service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Muffley Funeral Home, Inc. and High Plains Crematory, Clovis, N.M.
