ORONO – Marsha Louise Boobar, 68, went home to be with her Lord March 6, 2013. She was born Aug. 24, 1944, in Milo, the youngest of nine children to Daniel and Arlene (Heal) Boobar of Medford.
She is survived by her sister and guardian, Ivolene (Boobar) Clapp of Maxfield; her brother and his wife, Waverly and Renee Boobar of Howland; sister-in-law, Marie Boobar of Howland; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Reginald, Shirley, Lawrence, Earle, Phillip, and Ronald Boobar; and sisters-in-law, Rita Boobar, Virginia Boobar and Charlotte Boobar.
Marsha was born with cerebral palsy and lived with Dan and Arlene for 26 years before going to Cummings Health Care Facility, Howland, for 17 years, then transferred to Treats Falls House, Orono, where she lived and went to school at the Bouchea Center in Bangor for the past 25 years where she was given wonderful love and care, a real second family and home.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, with Pastor Alan Porter officiating. Viewing and visitation will precede the service from 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Medford Center Cemetery, later this spring, and a celebration of her life at a time to be announced.
