Brunswick man accused of sexually assaulting 12-year-old

BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 28-year-old Brunswick man has been indicted by a Cumberland County grand jury on a charge of gross sexual assault against a 12-year-old.

Thomas J. Harmon was charged after an investigation by the Brunswick Police Department.

Detectives went to Parkview Adventist Medical Center the night of Aug. 22, 2012, after medical staff reported that a 12-year-old patient said she had been assaulted, Detective Sgt. Martin Rinaldi said Thursday night.

Rinaldi declined to comment on the investigation.

On Thursday, the Cumberland County grand jury handed up Harmon’s indictment.

Harmon’s next court date was not available Thursday night.
