MILO – Valerie Jean “Susie” Ricker, 49, wife of Gary M. Ricker, died March 6, 2013, at her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 8, 1963, in Milo, daughter of Lewis D. and Elaine B. (Brown) Weymouth.
She graduated from Penquis High School, class of 1982, and later earned a diploma in culinary arts. Susie cooked and delivered meals for Eastern Area Agency on Aging, and always made sure that the elderly people she served had something unique through all the special times of the year. She enjoyed photography, cooking, crocheting and volunteering for P.A.W.S. and with Milo Recreation Department. Susie ran the ice cream parlor at Piscataquis Valley Fair for many years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; mother, Elaine Blethen; sister, Melanie Knaut; brother, Howard Pond and wife, Shirley; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Richard Blethen; and stepbrother, Erik Blethen.
Friends and family are invited to memorial visiting hours 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery.
