South Berwick man charged with DWI after crash

ROLLINSFORD, N.H. — A motorist police say was intoxicated lost control of his vehicle and collided with a utility pole causing the pole to snap at the base, recently.

Mutual aid from Rollinsford and South Berwick, Maine responded to a one vehicle collision on Silver Street at 7 p.m., on Friday, Feb 22.

Telly R. Hillsgrove, 36, of South Berwick was traveling South on Silver Street and operating a 2000 Chevy Cavalier that was totaled as a result of the collision. There were no injuries.

A section of Silver Street was closed to all traffic for 90 minutes.

Hillsgrove was arrested at the scene and charged with a second offense DWI. He was transported to the Rollinsford Police Station where he was booked and released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail.

He is scheduled to appear at the Dover Circuit Court on March 7.
